What does one do who intends to perform Hajj and 'Umrah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener, 'Abd al-Karim Habib from Sudan, says: I reside in Riyadh, and I want to perform the obligatory Hajj next year, if Allah wills. But I do not know how to begin. Please guide me to the correct path, and is there any guidance to a specific book that would benefit me in performing the obligatory Hajj in the correct manner? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Yes, there is a concise book that we wrote on the rituals of Hajj, which we titled "Al-Tahqiq wa al-Iydhah li-Kathir min Mas'al al-Hajj wa al-'Umrah wa al-Ziyarah 'ala Dhaw' al-Kitab wa al-Sunnah" (The Verification and Clarification of Many Issues of Hajj, 'Umrah, and Visitation in Light of the Book and the Sunnah). You can visit the office in Riyadh, and they will give you a copy of it, or more, so that you may benefit. You may begin with 'Umrah, so you perform 'Umrah in Ramadan, or in another month.
And 'Umrah is that you head toward Makkah. When you reach the miqat, you say: "O Allah, here I am for 'Umrah." You take a ghusl and perform wudu' with the prescribed ablution, and you pray two rak'ahs, the sunnah of wudu'. Then you say: "O Allah, here I am for 'Umrah" at the miqat. If you are from the route of Riyadh, the miqat of Riyadh is as-Sail. If you are in al-Madinah, it is the miqat of al-Madinah. If you are in the south, it is the miqat of Yemen, Yalamlam. The miqat that you pass by, you enter ihram for 'Umrah from it. You say: "O Allah, here I am for 'Umrah," intending it with your heart. You intend 'Umrah with your heart, and you say: "O Allah, here I am for 'Umrah." You wear the izār and the ridā' before entering ihram, before you say: "Here I am for 'Umrah," before the intention with the heart. It is better for you to take a ghusl, perform wudu', and pray two rak'ahs, the sunnah of wudu'. Then you continue, saying:
Labbaik Allahumma labbaik. Labbaik la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan-ni;mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika laka.لبيك اللهم لبيك، لبيك لا شريك لك لبيك، إن الحمد والنعمة لك والملك، لا شريك لك
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 825Sahih (Darussalam)
This is the prescribed talbiyah, and it is the talbiyah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited until you reach Makkah, and you are reciting the talbiyah.
Labbaik Allahumma labbaik. Labbaik la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan-ni;mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika laka.لبيك اللهم لبيك، لبيك لا شريك لك لبيك، إن الحمد والنعمة لك والملك، لا شريك لك
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 825Sahih (Darussalam)

And if you remember Allah, glorify Allah, and seek forgiveness from Allah in between all of that, that is good. Or if you recite the Qur'an, that is all good. When you come to al-Masjid al-Haram, you perform tawaf, seven circuits around the Ka'bah. You begin from the Black Stone, and in every circuit you go to it. You remember Allah in your circuits, and you supplicate to Him. There is no harm in reciting the Qur'an; it is all good. You begin with takbir: "Allahu Akbar," when you begin the tawaf, from the Black Stone. You touch it with your hand and kiss it. Then you place the House on your left and perform seven circuits. Every time you align with the Black Stone, you kiss it, touch it, and say takbir.
And likewise, at the Yemeni Corner, you touch it with your right hand, the Yemeni Corner, and you say: "In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest." And you say at the end of every circuit:
Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
[al-Baqarah: 201] at the end of every one of the seven circuits. Then you pray two rak'ahs behind the Maqam of Ibrahim, or in any place in the mosque. The best is behind the Maqam of Ibrahim. Two rak'ahs in which you recite al-Fatihah and
Say: O you disbelievers!قل يا أيها الكافرون
in the first, and
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
in the second. This is the best, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did. Then you perform sa'y between al-Safa and al-Marwah, seven circuits.

The presenter: So this topic has two parts: First, you have been kind enough to clarify what our brother must do if he intends to perform 'Umrah. Second: If he wants to benefit from this book, he must visit the General Presidency for Islamic Research, Ifta, and Guidance in Riyadh to receive a copy of this book.

The Shaykh: Yes, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
