Question:
This questioner, whose name is indicated by the initials (Sh. M. 'A) from Egypt, says in this question: Your Eminence! I performed the obligatory Hajj, and in my intention for Hajj I was a mutamatti', but when I entered the state of ihram from the miqat, I said: Labbaik Allahumma Hajjan wa 'Umrah. However, while I was on the way to Makkah, I read a booklet on the rituals of Hajj, and I learned that 'Umrah has its own ihram and Hajj has its own ihram. So I changed my intention while on the way and said: Labbaik Allahumma 'Umrah. Is my Hajj valid?

Answer:
If a person says: Labbaik Hajjan wa 'Umrah, the best is to exit the state of ihram with the 'Umrah. So if you exit the state of ihram with the 'Umrah, perform the tawaf, perform the sa'y, and shorten your hair, you are a mutamatti', and praise be to Allah. This is the best, and what you did is the best. Then you perform Hajj with the people. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
