Ruling on the validity of prayer without khushu'

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We conclude this session, Your Eminence the Shaykh, with a question from the questioner (S. F. R). He says: Does the prayer become invalid, Your Eminence the Shaykh, if it is performed without khushu'? And how is khushu' to be in prayer?

Answer:
If it is performed without tranquility, it is invalid. However, perfect khushu' is not a condition. But tranquility is necessary in the bowing, the prostration, between the two prostrations, and after the bowing. If he is tranquil, his prayer is valid, even if the khushu' is not complete. This is because Allah said:
Certainly will the believers have succeeded:قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۝
[Al-Mu'minun 23:1]
the ones who are humble in their prayers [Al-Mu'minun: 1-2]. Perfect khushu' is part of the perfection of the prayer. But if he is tranquil in his bowing, prostration, between the two prostrations, and after the bowing, his prayer is valid, even if he did not attain the complete, abundant khushu'. Yes.
