What is the ruling on a doctor delaying the prayer during surgeries?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
As for this question, O Shaykh, it is for doctors, as they may find that they need longer hours in a surgical operation, during which more than one prayer time may be missed, and interrupting the operation to perform the prayer poses a danger to the patient. So what is their time regarding the prayer?

Answer:
This is a legitimate excuse if the need calls for it, just as fighters may be forced to delay the prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Day of the Trench was forced to delay the 'Asr prayer until after Maghrib because of the war. And the Companions at Tustar in the war of Iraq—the war of the Persians—when the dawn broke, they were unable to perform the Fajr prayer because they were at the gates—the gates of Madinah—and some were on the walls, and some had descended into the town, so they delayed it until the Duha time.
So if you are in an operation and leaving it would be a danger to the patient, complete it even if the time is missed, and pray afterwards, and there is no blame on you, and praise be to Allah. This is the correct course.
