Explaining the Error of Teaching False Religions Before Teaching the Truth

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student : In the university, my Shaykh, Doctor, mentioned to me a few days ago that the subject he teaches is "Ancient Religions." From this perspective, he studies the beliefs of the Jews and Christians. In this way, he introduces the youth to... previous beliefs.

The Shaykh : Is he not a Muslim?
The student : He means this subject is to guide them, saying, "I learned evil not for the sake of evil, but to avoid it." That is what he says about this subject.

The Shaykh : They should teach the creed that they need before anything else.
The student : He teaches them the ancient religions, the Jews and Christians, what they say, and that Islam is the true statement.

The Shaykh : And this expression, and then he comes to Islam at the end.
The student : So, brother, what year are you in?
Another student: ...
The student : Our Shaykh, when the youth ask these questions, it is because there is agitation among them; the universities agitate them. They need your good words so that they are guided correctly.

The Shaykh : By Allah, this is a problem. We are looking into the basics. What are we fighting? Our problem is that we fight Muslims who have strayed from the Book and the Sunnah and claim that, for example, seeking nearness to Allah through a means (tawassul) and calling for aid (istighathah) other than to Allah is a prescribed and permissible matter. As for us coming and saying how we refute the Trinity, which is explicitly stated in the Qur'an and the Sunnah and the consensus of the Ummah, my brother, when we convey this to you, tell him: we ask you to teach us first what is obligatory for people. That is, we know the truth, and then we know the falsehood, not that we know the falsehood and then it is your turn to teach us the truth. This reminds me of the legend they tell about Imam Ahmad, one of the most amazing legends, that he taught his son Abdullah such-and-such number of thousands of hadiths. Imagine how much time it took if the story were true? How much time did it take if we assume he sat in one session, even though this is imagined in several volumes of hadith? So-and-so said, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said such-and-such, and the Messenger of Allah said such-and-such, thousands of hadiths. In the end, what does he say to him? "My son, these hadiths that I taught you are all incorrect hadiths." First of all, how much time did you take, and then this son, in order to get the answer from his father that these hadiths are incorrect, what did he do with these hadiths? He spread them, lived by them, and taught them to others, and so on. In the end, the father tells him that these hadiths are incorrect. But we teach something correct first, and then if it comes to knowing the incorrect thing, it is better to have good upon good. So this professor, when he teaches you the previous deviated laws, deviating from the same law that Allah revealed to Isa or Musa or others, there is no objection in doing so later, but before anything else, teach us what we should believe about Allah. What does
(1) Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, (2) Allah, the Eternal Refuge. (3) He neither begets nor is born, (4) Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1-4]
mean? The Trinity is false. What do we need, a clearer proof than this? And, unfortunately, the masses of Muslims today do not know Allah with true knowledge. Now, without offense, you are asking a question within your intellectual and scientific capacity, why? If I were, God forbid, the Messenger of Allah and you took a long, drawn-out lecture on refuting the people of the Trinity, that this issue does not need a lecture, what could you comprehend of this lecture? Because you are not one who records it in your mind and goes to... convey it to these polytheists who say that Allah is the third of three. So you know the good before you know the evil. If you know the good and then you know the evil, so that first you avoid it and keep others away from it, there is no objection. So this is how we should know that we start with the positives and then follow with the negatives. This is my advice to you, O youth.
