The Ruling on a Man Being Alone with Two Women

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is a man being alone with two women prohibited?

Answer:
There is no harm in it; being alone with one woman only is the issue. As for when there are three people, without fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) and without suspicion, there is no harm. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
No man should be alone with a woman, for the Shaytan is the third among them.لا يَخْلُوَنَّ رجلٌ بامرأةٍ، فإنَّ الشيطان ثالثهما
Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 2:94
. So if there are two women or more, the state of being alone (khalwah) is removed, unless there is suspicion.
Q: What if the woman is elderly?
A: Even if she is elderly, the hadith is general, for every woman who has reached maturity.
