The Difference Between the Intoxicants of This World and the Hereafter

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
We all know that intoxicants are forbidden in this world, that they cause intoxication, and that they cloud the mind. For this reason, they are an abomination from the work of Satan, and they are the mother of all evils, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said. The question, O honorable Shaykh, is: Why are intoxicants forbidden in this world but permissible in the Hereafter?
Answer: The intoxicants of the Hereafter are pure; they contain no intoxication, no harm, and no injury. As for the intoxicants of this world, they contain harm, intoxication, and injury. That is to say, the intoxicants of the Hereafter do not cause delirium, do not cause the drinker to vomit blood, and contain nothing that destroys the mind or harms the body. As for the intoxicants of this world, they harm both the mind and the body. Thus, all the harms present in the intoxicants of this world are absent from the intoxicants of the Hereafter. And success is from Allah.
