The Meaning of (‘Az wa Jal) and (Rabb al-Arbaab)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
We will leave the remaining questions of our brother Abdul-Rahman Mubarak Salama from the Arab Republic of Egypt for a future session, if Allah wills, and move on to a message received by the program from our sister (N.R.W.), also Egyptian, residing in Kuwait. Our sister says: We always say: Allah ‘Az wa Jal, Allah Rabb al-Arbaab. What is the meaning of ‘Az wa Jal, and what is the meaning of Rabb al-Arbaab?
Answer: The meaning of ‘Az wa Jal is: He became Mighty and Majestic, Great. So He possesses complete might, as the Exalted said:
And to Allah belongs [all] honor, and to His Messengerوَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ
[Al-Munafiqun:8], meaning: subjugation, dominance, and power. And likewise Jal, meaning: He became Majestic, possessing majesty, greatness, and grandeur, (Glorified and Exalted is He). So He is the Majestic, the Great, and He is the Mighty, who is the mightiest thing and the most majestic thing . He is the Subjugator of His servants and the Mighty who dominates them. He is the One who is described with complete majesty, meaning: complete greatness.
As for Rabb al-Arbaab, its meaning is: the Lord of the created beings. For the house has a Lord, the earth has a Lord, the palm tree has a Lord, and the livestock have a Lord, meaning: the owner. And so on. It is called: the Lord of the house, the Lord of the livestock, the Lord of the earth, meaning: its owner. So He is the Lord of these Lords, meaning: the Lord of these created beings that have followers. The owner of the sheep is called the Lord of the sheep, the owner of the house is called the Lord of the house, and the owner of the camels is called the Lord of the camels. So the meaning is: that Allah is the Lord of all, and even if they are called Lords, they are owned by Him, (Glorified and Exalted is He), and they are His slaves. So He is the Lord of the Lords, meaning: the Lord of all created beings, their Creator and their Sustainer, their slaves and their free, their inanimate and their rational, and so on. Yes.
