The Method of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) Hajj

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Brother Muhammad Zuheir al-Rifai adds and asks the following question: How was the Hajj of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? Did he perform Tamattu', Qiran, or Ifrad? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
Answer: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Hajj as a Qarin. This is the correct position held by the meticulous scholars among the people of knowledge, and the reports regarding the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) have been mass-transmitted that he responded to the call for both Hajj and 'Umrah, and he said:
Had I not brought sacrificial animals with me, I would have put off my ihram.لولا أن معي الهدي لأحللت معكم
Sunan Abi Dawud 1789Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
The point is that he performed Hajj as a Qarin, responding to the call for both—'Umrah and Hajj—and he remained in his state of Ihram because he had brought sacrificial animals with him, (peace and blessings be upon him). As for the Companions who did not bring sacrificial animals, he ordered them to exit the state of Ihram, so they exited, performed Tawaf and Sa'y, shortened their hair, and exited the state of Ihram. Then they entered the state of Ihram for Hajj on the Day of Tarwiyah when they set out for Mina. As for him (peace and blessings be upon him), he was a Qarin. This is the correct position; he responded to the call for both Hajj and 'Umrah. This is the preserved account of his action, (peace and blessings be upon him). And because he had brought sacrificial animals, he did not exit the state of Ihram with the people. He remained in his state of Ihram until he exited from both on the Day of Sacrifice. He stoned the pillars on the Day of 'Eid, then slaughtered his sacrifice, then shaved his head, then exited the state of Ihram and applied perfume. Then he rode to the House and performed Tawaf al-Ifadah, (peace and blessings be upon him). This is the truth. Yes.
