The ruling on the congregation raising their voices when the imam recites: {Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah}
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This message arrived from the Republic of Guinea Conakry. The questioner is Abdullah Muhammad Bari, residing in Angola. He says: I hear in some mosques many of the worshippers raising their voices when the imam recites: [Al-Fath: 29], the verse, and they say: (peace and blessings be upon him). Likewise, at the end of Surat al-Tin, they say in a loud voice: "Yes, and we are of those who bear witness." Please inform us about this, may you be rewarded.
Answer: The Sunnah is to listen attentively and not to raise the voice, neither in sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) nor in saying "Yes, and we are of those who bear witness." The Sunnah for the followers is to listen attentively and not to raise the voice with anything; because Allah says: [Al-A'raf: 204]. And it is not narrated from the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) that they used to raise their voices with him (peace and blessings be upon him). So what is prescribed is listening, reflection, and understanding, and not raising the voice, such as when they say upon his saying: [Al-Fath: 29] (peace and blessings be upon him). As for between him and himself, the matter is broader. Between him and himself, the matter is easy. If he left it, that would be better, and if he did it, there is no harm. But it is not narrated from him (peace and blessings be upon him) in the obligatory prayer that he would stand and send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) or make du'a. Rather, this was done in the Tahajjud prayer. He used to do it in the Tahajjud prayer at night. Likewise: [Al-Tin: 8], he does not say: "Yes, and I am of those who bear witness," because the hadith is weak. But he says: "Glory be to Him and praise be to Him," or "Glory be to Him and Exalted is He," between him and himself. There is no harm in that. Likewise, the noble verse at the end of Al-Qiyamah: [Al-Qiyamah: 40]. A sound hadith has been reported regarding this. So if he says: "Yes," there is no harm; because it is reported in the sound hadith at the end of Al-Qiyamah that he should say that. As for the end of Al-Tin, and the end of Al-Mursalat, no hadith has been established regarding them. But he listens, hears, and is present in heart, and does not speak. This is what is best; because the Companions used to listen attentively, and Allah commanded this by His saying: [Al-A'raf: 204]. But if he glorifies Allah between him and himself, or makes du'a between him and himself, the matter in this, if Allah wills, has no harm in it, due to his (peace and blessings be upon him) doing it in the night prayer.
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him

So when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ الْقُرْآنُ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَأَنصِتُواMuhammad is the Messenger of Allah
مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِIs not Allah the most just of judges?
أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ الْحَاكِمِينَIs He not able to give life to the dead?
أَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَنْ يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَىSo when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy.
