Ruling on holding the Friday prayer in a school mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The author of this letter says: There is a boarding school for students in this village, and it has a mosque where the five daily prayers are performed during the study periods. Is it permissible to hold the Friday prayer in such a mosque? Please note that the school is closed during vacation periods.
Answer: This requires a detailed explanation: If there are other mosques around it where the Friday prayer is held, it is not permissible to hold it in this one. Rather, the students and others must pray the Friday prayer with the people in the existing congregational mosques. However, if there is no nearby congregational mosque in the village and the congregational mosques in other villages are far away, they may hold it in this mosque, provided there are residents around the mosque, even if they are only three or more. If they are settled residents, they may pray the Friday prayer, along with any students or others who join them, unless there is a nearby mosque where they can hear the call to prayer and it is not difficult for them to go there. In that case, they must go to the nearby mosque, and that is sufficient. But if the mosques where the Friday prayer is held are far away, it is difficult for them to go to them, and they cannot hear the call to prayer—meaning the call without amplifiers, the high call when voices are clear and there is nothing preventing hearing—then in this case, they may pray the Friday prayer in their mosque, provided there are settled residents around the mosque, three or more, according to the most correct of the scholars' opinions. It is not required that there be forty or twelve; there is no evidence for that. Rather, whenever there are three, four, or five settled residents in the town, they pray the Friday prayer if the congregational mosques around them are far from them. Yes.
