The ruling on a woman who does not wake her husband for the Fajr prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
She says about herself: I always wake up early for the Fajr prayer, and sometimes the prayer is missed for me, but in the times when I get up for prayer, I do not wake my husband for prayer; rather, he remains asleep until work time, and after that he prays. Is there a sin on me for that?
Answer: Yes, there is a sin on you both, on you and on him. It is obligatory for you to wake him, to fear Allah in that, and to help him in good. It is obligatory for him to get up and pray in its time with the Muslims in the mosques. It is not permissible for him to sleep until work time. This is an abomination, and indeed it is disbelief if he intends it, because it is intentionally leaving the prayer in its time, intentionally taking it out of its time. We seek refuge in Allah from that.
So it is obligatory for you to wake him, advise him, and be diligent in that. It is obligatory for him to fear Allah, to get up in its time, and to pray with the Muslims in the mosque. This is what is obligatory for everyone. And Allah the Exalted says: [Al-Ma'idah: 2], and He the Exalted says: [At-Tawbah: 71], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 49a And you are able to do so with your tongue, even if he gets angry or dislikes it. Wake him, even if he gets angry. Say: "Fear Allah, the prayer, the prayer." Help him in good. If he does not reform, then seek separation. Leave him and go to your family and divorce him; because this means intentionally leaving the prayer in its time. We seek refuge in Allah. And whoever intentionally leaves it in its time commits disbelief by that, according to the most correct of the sayings of the scholars of knowledge; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): , and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan Ibn Majah 1079Sahih (Darussalam), and whoever intentionally leaves it until the sun rises, intentionally, commits disbelief by that, according to the correct view.
So it is obligatory for you to fear Allah and to help him in good. If he responds, otherwise divorce him, and go to your family, leave him, and withhold yourself from him. We ask Allah for well-being and safety, and we ask Allah for guidance for us and for him.
The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good and do you good.

cooperate in righteousness and piety
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong
He who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do it, then he should do it with his tongue
Between a man and disbelief and shirk (associating partners with Allah) is the abandonment of prayer.
The covenant that distinguishes between us and them is prayer; so whoever leaves it, he has committed Kufr.
So it is obligatory for you to fear Allah and to help him in good. If he responds, otherwise divorce him, and go to your family, leave him, and withhold yourself from him. We ask Allah for well-being and safety, and we ask Allah for guidance for us and for him.
