Is there a connection between the intellect and the soul?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He asks and says: We, the children of Adam, possess intellect and soul. The question is: When the intellect thinks about something, can the soul oppose it regarding that thing or agree with it? Or is there a connection between the intellect and the soul, or do both operate independently of each other?

Answer:
The intellect and the self are one thing; because the intellect only thinks, observes, and reflects through the soul, which is the spirit. If the spirit departs, everything becomes invalid. If the spirit is present in him, he thinks with it through his self regarding what he perceives. He thinks with the intellect and discernment that Allah has given him, distinguishing between the beneficial and the harmful, and the good and the bad. Thus, he thinks with the intellect that Allah has given him through the spirit, which is his self and his life. As long as the spirit exists, he is able to think, observe, and prepare for what he wants, and to resolve to do what he wants. If the spirit departs, thinking becomes invalid. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
