Question:
Your Eminence, this is a questioner who did not mention his name in this message, and he says: I want Your Eminence to answer this question. He says:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, as narrated by the two Shaykhs:Sahih al-Bukhari 554 The question is: Why did this hadith link seeing Allah with the Fajr and 'Asr prayers? Is maintaining these prayers at these two times a cause for seeing Allah ?
Please guide us, Your Eminence.
Answer:
Seeing Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) in Paradise and on the Day of Resurrection is a reality that the believers will see, and it is the greatest of the delights of the people of Paradise. When the veil is removed from His face and they see Him, they are not given anything they love more than looking at His face . He (Exalted and Majestic is He) has informed us that they will see Him on the Day of Resurrection with their own eyes, just as they see the sun on a clear day with no clouds between them, and just as they see the moon on the night of the full moon; they will not be wronged in seeing Him. This is the truth according to the people of the Sunnah and the community. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 4851 meaning: the 'Asr prayer and the Fajr prayer. The scholars mentioned that the secret behind this is that whoever guards these two prayers will be among those who look at Allah in the morning and in the evening in Paradise, meaning in the span of the morning and the evening; because there is no night in Paradise, it is all continuous day, but in the span of the morning and the evening, as Allah the Exalted said: [Maryam:62] meaning: in the span of the morning and the evening in this world, and so it is with the seeing in the span of the morning and the evening, meaning: the special people of Paradise have a seeing between the morning and the evening, meaning a frequent seeing due to their good deeds and their sincere faith.
And among the causes of that is their maintenance of the 'Asr prayer, and the Fajr prayer has a special status. These two prayers, and maintaining them, are among the signs of the strength of faith and the perfection of faith along with the other prayers.
So it is obligatory to maintain them all, but to give the 'Asr and Fajr prayers extra care; because they are the opposite of what the hypocrites are upon, and the opposite of what the lazy are upon. We seek help from Allah.
The presenter: May Allah grant us assistance. May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
Many people, O Virtuous Shaykh, are lax with these two times, which are 'Asr and Fajr. Is there any advice for these people?
May Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh: Yes, it is obligatory for every believing man and woman to strive to maintain the prayer at its time, all five prayers, and to give Fajr and 'Asr extra care. In reality, many people are lazy about Fajr, and they sleep until the sun rises, and perhaps they do not get up for it unless they get up for their work, if they pray it. And this is a great calamity and a great evil.
So it is obligatory to pray it at its time. A group of scholars held that if one intentionally leaves it until the sun rises, he becomes a disbeliever; due to his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): And this is one who intentionally left it until its time passed. And so, whoever intentionally leaves the 'Asr prayer until the sun sets becomes a disbeliever according to a group of scholars, due to this authentic hadith: And his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan Ibn Majah 1079Sahih (Darussalam).
So it is obligatory for the believer and the believing woman to take care of the five prayers, and to maintain them at their times, and to give Fajr extra care so that he gets up for it and prays it with the Muslims at its time, and the woman prays it at its time. And so with 'Asr, some people, when they come from work, fall asleep and leave the 'Asr prayer. And this is a great evil, and refuge is sought in Allah, and it is major shirk according to some scholars if one does that intentionally. So it is obligatory to be cautious.
And so, some people stay up late for gossip or playing, and then when it is time, they sleep through the Fajr prayer. And this is a great evil. It is obligatory not to stay up late, and to time one's sleep in a way that helps him get up for the Fajr prayer, and to pray it in congregation. It is not permissible for him to imitate the hypocrites:Sunan Ibn Majah 797Sahih (Darussalam) And so with the 'Asr prayer, all the prayers are heavy for them: [An-Nisa:142].
So it is obligatory to be cautious of imitating them, and it is obligatory to maintain them at their times, all five prayers together. One must maintain them at their times, with his brothers in the mosques, and give Fajr, 'Asr, and 'Isha extra care, so that he is cautious of the characteristics of the hypocrites. We ask Allah for health and guidance for everyone.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, as narrated by the two Shaykhs:
Certainly you will see your Lord as you see this moon and you will have no trouble in seeing Him. So if you can avoid missing (through sleep or business, etc.) a prayer before the sunrise (Fajr) and a prayer before sunset (`Asr), you must do so.

So, whoever can, should not miss the offering of prayers before sunrise (Fajr prayer) and before sunset (`Asr prayer).
فإن استطعتم أن لا تغلبوا على صلاة قبل طلوع الشمس وقبل غروبها فافعلواand they will have their provision therein, morning and afternoon.

Between a man and disbelief and shirk (associating partners with Allah) is the abandonment of prayer.
بين الرجل وبين الكفر والشرك ترك الصلاةBetween a man and disbelief and shirk (associating partners with Allah) is the abandonment of prayer.
بين الرجل وبين الكفر والشرك ترك الصلاةThe covenant that distinguishes between us and them is prayer; so whoever leaves it, he has committed Kufr.
العهد الذي بيننا وبينهم الصلاة، فمن تركها فقد كفرSo it is obligatory for the believer and the believing woman to take care of the five prayers, and to maintain them at their times, and to give Fajr extra care so that he gets up for it and prays it with the Muslims at its time, and the woman prays it at its time. It is not permissible for him to imitate the hypocrites:
The most burdensome prayers for the hypocrites are the 'Isha' prayer and the Fajr prayer
أثقل الصلاة على المنافقين صلاة العشاء وصلاة الفجرIndeed, the hypocrites [think to] deceive Allah, but He is deceiving them. And when they stand for prayer, they stand lazily
إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ يُخَادِعُونَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَادِعُهُمْ وَإِذَا قَامُوا إِلَى الصَّلاةِ قَامُوا كُسَالَىSo it is obligatory to be cautious of imitating them, and it is obligatory to maintain them at their times, all five prayers together.
