Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man rented out a piece of land and planted barley in it, but when the crop ripened, he sold it to another person while the crop was still in the ground and had not yet been harvested. On whom is the zakah obligatory, the first man or the second?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is on the first man; if the grain ripens while it is in his ownership, the zakah is due on him, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh: But if he stipulated it with the buyer, selling him the crop and stipulating that the zakah is his responsibility, then the zakah becomes his responsibility, yes.

The presenter: May Allah bless you.
