What is the ruling on a woman coloring her lips and nails?

Question:
Another question from the listener (A. Kh.) from al-Madinah al-Munawwarah says: Is it permissible for a woman to color her lips and nails? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We do not know of any harm in that, that she puts something suitable on her lips, like dye, and the like of that, which they do for beauty, but only in relation to her husband and women, and it is not permissible for her to display that to foreign men, rather this is forbidden; because it is obligatory for her to cover her face, and to cover her adornment, so if this is with women and with the husband, then we do not know anything wrong with that, just as she takes henna on her hands, or on her feet, and takes types of perfume for her husband, all of this is permissible, and with women it does not harm, if she is in a place where there are only women, and there is no free mixing of men and women, then there is no blame on her.
And it is obligatory for her to stay away from the causes of trial with men, yes.
