Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner from Syria asks: What is the ruling on vessels coated with silver regarding their use?

Answer:
Vessels coated with gold or silver are not to be used. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited them. He said:
The one who drinks from a silver vessel is swallowing Hell-fire into his belly.الذي يشرب في إناء الذهب والفضة إنما يجرجر في بطنه نار جهنم
Sunan Ibn Majah 3413Sahih (Darussalam)
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not eat from gold or silver plates, nor drink from them, for they are for them in this world and for you in the Hereafterلا تأكلوا في صحاف الذهب والفضة، ولا تشربوا فيها، فإنها لهم في الدنيا، ولكم في الآخرة
Therefore, it is not permissible for a Muslim to use vessels made of gold or silver, or coated with them. Yes.
