Question:
This questioner, the mother of Husayn from Abha, says: She traveled with her family from the city of Abha to Jeddah by plane to perform 'Umrah, and then to go to Jeddah. However, she started menstruating, so she asked her mother to postpone going to Makkah. And indeed, she says: We went to Jeddah first, and after two days, we all entered ihram from Jeddah, then we went to Makkah and performed 'Umrah, then we returned to Jeddah. After her travel to Abha, what is the ruling on what she did, O Shaykh? Is her 'Umrah valid?
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
The 'Umrah mentioned is valid, but they owe a sacrificial animal; because they entered ihram from Jeddah, and they performed the 'Umrah, and they passed the miqat. The obligatory thing for each of them is a sacrificial animal to be slaughtered in Makkah for the poor; because they passed the miqat and did not enter ihram from the miqat, but rather entered ihram from Jeddah. We ask Allah for success and acceptance for everyone.
The presenter: O Allah, amen.
