The Ruling on the Hajj of a Debtor Who Is Able to Repay

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A letter from one of the listening brothers says: I am Sudanese and I reside in the Kingdom. I intend to perform the obligatory Hajj, and that will be in the coming Hajj, if Allah wills, for the first time. However, I have a debt that obligates me to repay it, even if by correspondence. If I do not find a person to send this amount with, what should I do? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Do what you can and perform the Hajj, and praise be to Allah. It is not a condition for the Hajj that you have no debt, as long as you are able to repay it, even if after the Hajj, praise be to Allah. You may send it before the Hajj or after it, and you are in a good state, if Allah wills. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
