Question:
This questioner asks: What is the meaning of "arrival" in the statement of Allah the Exalted:
And there is none of you except he will come to itوَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا
[Maryam: 71]?

Answer:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified this, stating that the "arrival" referred to here is passing over the Sirat. The Muslim passes over the Sirat and is saved. Some of the people of sins may fall, but as for the disbelievers, they are driven to it, they arrive at it, and they are gathered for it, may Allah protect us from that.
Therefore, passing over is inevitable. The believer passes over and is saved, while the disbeliever is driven to it and enters it. Some of the sinners may be scratched on the Sirat and be saved, or they may fall due to their sins, but they will not remain in it forever. A sinner does not remain in the Fire forever if he died while committing zina, sodomy, riba (usury or interest), undutifulness to parents, or other sins without repenting. He is under the will of Allah. If Allah wills, He will forgive him and admit him to Paradise because of his tawhid (the oneness of Allah), his faith, and his good deeds. If He wills, He will put him in the Fire because of his sins. Once he is purified and cleansed in it, he will be taken out to Paradise, as Allah the Sublime said:
Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He willsإِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ
[Al-Nisa: 48].
Thus, the Sublime informed that shirk (associating partners with Allah) is not forgiven for one who dies upon it. As for what is less than shirk, it may be forgiven or pardoned due to repentance, and Allah accepts the repentance of the repentant. It may also be pardoned due to many good deeds and righteous deeds he performed, or through the intercession of some of the intercessors. The reports have been mass-transmitted (mutawatir) from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he will intercede for a group of sinners, and Allah will take them out of the Fire. Likewise, others will intercede.
The point is that the sinner is under the will of Allah. If he died upon Islam but had sins from which he did not repent, he is under the will of Allah . If He wills, Allah will forgive him and admit him to Paradise. If He wills, He will punish him according to the measure of his sins, and then Allah will take him out of the Fire through the intercession of some of the intercessors, or simply by His mercy and His generosity, (Exalted and Majestic is He). Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
