Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner is Egyptian (A. A.) and resides in the Eastern Province. He says: Your Eminence! I would like to know the reality of tawakkul (reliance upon Allah). What is the reality of tawakkul (reliance upon Allah)?

Answer:
The reality of tawakkul (reliance upon Allah) is to rely on Him in everything. You know that He is the Determiner of affairs and the Causer of causes, and that everything is by His decree and divine decree. You perform the causes, such as praying and fasting, and you perform the causes while relying on Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to obtain what is sought, such as entering Paradise, being saved from the Fire, the fruit of crops, the offspring of animals, and the profit of trade. You act and take the lawful and permissible means that Allah has prescribed, acting while relying on Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and placing your trust in Him to obtain the desired result, whether it is the acceptance of your deeds, the success of your agriculture, the success of your trade, or otherwise. You act while knowing that everything is in His hand and that He is the Causer of causes, but you take the lawful and permissible means, relying on Allah and hoping that He will guide you and make your means beneficial. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
