The Ruling on Gifts Between Students and Teachers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In the last of this questioner's questions, she says: "I love my teacher, may the Shaykh be honored. I love my teacher for the sake of Allah, and at the end of the term I gave her a gift in the spirit of affection and love between us. Is this permissible for me?"

Answer:
It is safer to refrain from giving the gift, because it may cause her to favor you over the other students. Refraining from the gift is preferable and safer, because the teacher is among the workers, and it is not appropriate to give gifts to workers. Therefore, the safest course for you, and what is recommended, is not to give anything, because this gift may cause the teacher to favor you and be unjust to the others because of the gift. Thus, the safest course, and what appears from the evidence, is not to give gifts to female or male teachers. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
