What is prescribed to be recited in the Witr prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Are there any hadiths regarding the recitation of Surat al-A'la, Surat al-Kafirun, and Surat al-Ikhlas in the odd-numbered rak'ahs and the Witr prayer? This is in Ramadan. And what is required of the imam in Ramadan? Does he continue to recite these surahs, O Shaykh?

Answer:
This is the best, yes. It is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite in the last three nights Subha,
Say: O you disbelievers!قل يا أيها الكافرون
and
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
. So if he performed Witr with three rak'ahs, he would recite Subha in the first, al-Kafirun in the second, and
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
in the third. This is the best. And if he recited something else, there is no blame on him; the matter is broad; because Allah said:
So recite what is easy from itفَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ
[Al-Muzzammil: 20]. And if he recites the rak'ahs in succession and concludes every two with taslim, then performs Witr with one, all of that is good. And if he does not recite Subha ......
The point is that he prays two rak'ahs at a time, then performs Witr with one. The best in that one rak'ah is to recite after al-Fatihah
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
, following the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). If he recites something else, there is no blame on him, due to the generality of the saying of the Exalted and Majestic:
So recite what is easy from itفَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ
[Al-Muzzammil: 20]. And his saying (peace and blessings be upon him) to the one who was deficient:
Then recite whatever is easy for you from the Qur'anثم اقرأ بما تيسر لك من القرآن
So the matter in this is broad, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you, O Shaykh.
