Question:
A message reached the program from one of the listening brothers. He says: The sender is Abdullah, seventeen years old, from Riyadh. Our brother says: I complain of forgetfulness and wandering thoughts in prayer, so what do you advise me?
Answer:
We advise you to seek refuge in Allah from Satan, to be wary of him, and to be mindful that you are in the presence of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) until the enemy of Allah is hidden from you. For being mindful that you are in the presence of Allah, that you are conversing with Him, magnifying Him, hoping for His mercy, and fearing His punishment; this is among the greatest causes for keeping the enemy of Allah away from you. For he is a whispering, sneaky one; when Allah is mentioned, he moves away from the servant, and when there is heedlessness and whispers, he is present.
So it is obligatory for you to strive to fight him by being mindful that you are in the presence of Allah, that you hope for Him and fear Him, and beware of His retribution, and seek to fulfill His right. And if he confuses you, seek refuge in Allah from Satan, saying: I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, then spit to your left, even in prayer, spit to your left three times saying: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.
And Uthman ibn Abi al-As al-Thaqafi, the noble Companion, complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, Satan has confused my prayer for me. So he said: So Allah saved him from his evil. Thus, seeking refuge in Allah from Satan and being sincere in that is among the causes of safety. And if you are in prayer and he distracts you, spit to your left three times saying: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan, repeat it three times; and it will be removed from you -if Allah wills-.
And likewise in other than prayer, whenever you feel these whispers; so seek refuge in Allah from Satan, and remember Allah, and glorify Allah, and praise Allah, and be strong in fighting the enemy of Allah, yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.

That is a Satan called Khanzab, so when you feel that, seek refuge in Allah from Satan three times, and spit to your left three times, so he did.
