The ruling on praying in the mosque of Ibn 'Abbas in al-Ta'if

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some of the brothers are averse to praying in the mosque of Ibn 'Abbas in al-Ta'if, and they say that it is built on graves. What is your opinion?

Answer:
This is an error and ignorance. When graves are dug up for the benefit of the Muslims, it is permissible to pray in their place. So there is nothing wrong with praying in the mosque of Ibn 'Abbas, because these graves were dug up for the benefit of the Muslims, so there is no blame in that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) built his mosque in the place of graves, so there were graves in the mosque of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He ordered them to be dug up and removed. There were also pits and ruins in it, so he removed them. There were also date palms, so they were cut down, and then the mosque was built.
So the point is that when graves are moved for the sake of benefit, there is nothing wrong with it.
