The Ruling on Breaking the Fast in Ramadan for the Pregnant and Nursing Woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner: O Noble Shaykh, this questioner (F. T. H) from the Eastern Region says: I hope you will answer this question: What is obligatory for a woman who felt intense thirst during the day in Ramadan, and she was pregnant in her ninth month, so she feared for herself and drank a lot of water, and after Ramadan ended she made up that day but did not feed anyone? Please inform us if anything else is required of her?

Answer:
The Shaykh: If fasting is difficult for the pregnant woman, it is prescribed for her to break the fast and make it up. So, if fasting is difficult for the pregnant woman and the nursing woman, they break the fast and make it up, and feeding is not required of them. They make it up after the festival, after the birth. Likewise, if the child grows up and fasting is not difficult for her, she makes it up. And if fasting is difficult while she is nursing or while she is pregnant, she breaks the fast, and praise be to Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted a dispensation to the pregnant and nursing women to break the fast, out of concern for the hardship upon them and upon the child. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
