What is the ruling on being alone with one's wife after the marriage contract but before the wedding?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a man who has taken a girl in marriage to be alone with her and see her face, and that is before the wedding ceremonies?

Answer:
Yes, it is permissible for him to see her face and be alone with her, but if he fears that something unacceptable will happen from that, and her family do not approve, then it is not allowed; because he may have intercourse with her and she may become pregnant, and then it may be denied or she may be accused of unlawful sexual intercourse, and a great evil will occur. Therefore, it should not be done except with their approval and knowledge. If they do not approve and do not know, then contact should be made by telephone, or by writing, or by sending a woman he trusts, or one of her mahram relatives, if he has a need to contact her.
As for being alone with her while her family do not know and are not aware, this may lead to evil: he may have intercourse with her, and she may become pregnant; then a trial will occur, and people will say that it is from other than her husband, or he may claim that this is not from him, and it will be a great calamity for everyone.
So the better course for the believer, and the precaution for him, is to stay away from these things, and he has no right to do so except with the approval of her family; so that they know, so that they are on clear knowledge, and so that no trial occurs, and so that the girl is not accused of what is not right.
And all of this is if he has contracted the marriage with her. But if he has not contracted the marriage with her, then he has no right to be alone with her at all, and it is not permissible for him. Rather, he only looks at her in the presence of her father or her mother or the like of that; so that he sees what calls him to propose to her and marry her, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted the suitor to look, but without being alone with her.
