The ruling on one who concludes his recitation of the Qur'an with al-Fatihah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on one who concludes his recitation with al-Fatihah?

Answer:
We know of no basis for this; rather, it is a religious innovation (bid'ah). There is no basis for this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not do this, nor did his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). All good lies in following him (peace and blessings be upon him) and adhering to the Salaf of this Ummah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.مَن عمل عملًا ليس عليه أمرُنا فهو ردٌّ
