The ruling on delaying condolences for several days

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner Abu Ahmad says: Your Eminence, is condolences limited to a specific place? And what is the ruling on condolences if they are delayed for more than two or three days?

Answer:
There is no specific place for condolences, nor a set number of days. Neither the days for condolences nor the place for condolences has been specified. One may offer condolences in any place: on the road, in the mosque, in the cemetery, in his home, or by telephone; there is nothing wrong with that. There is no limit to the days; one may offer condolences on the first day, or the second, or the third, or the fourth. It is recommended to hasten with the condolences, because the affliction is most severe at its beginning. Therefore, hastening with the condolences is better at the start of the affliction. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
