The Time Interval Between the Fajr Obligation and Its Sunnah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He asks Your Eminence about the time interval between the Fajr obligation and its sunnah (recommended practice). May Allah reward you with good. Is there anything forbidden if the obligatory prayer is performed before the voluntary prayer?

Answer:
The sunnah is to perform the voluntary prayer after the dawn appears, specifically the two rak'ahs of the Fajr sunnah. If the interval between it and the obligatory prayer is long, it does not cause harm, whether it is close to the obligatory prayer or far from it, as long as it is after the dawn appears. The sunnah is to pray two rak'ahs, then pray the obligatory prayer. So if he delays it, he prays it after the obligatory prayer, or after the sun rises. But the sunnah is to perform it first. It is the sunnah for the believer to perform the Fajr sunnah, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do, then he would pray the obligatory prayer. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
