The Ruling on Excessive Swearing by Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner, Umm Rashid from Yemen, says: O Shaykh, what is the ruling on frequent swearing by Allah, especially if it is about something I believe to be true?

Answer:
One should not swear frequently. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says:
And keep your oathsوَاحْفَظُوا أَيْمَانَكُمْ
[Al-Ma'idah: 89]. A person should handle matters without taking oaths, even if he is truthful, because frequent swearing leads to lying. A believer should guard against frequent oaths, even if he is truthful, and resolve problems without taking oaths.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
