Ruling on a woman refraining from marriage out of fear of the harm of husbands

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Umm Ahmad from Sudan says: Does a woman sin if she refrains from marriage out of fear that her husband will be her fire, meaning: she fears that she will not be able to fulfill his rights? What is your guidance, Your Eminence?

Answer:
Marriage is prescribed; marriage is prescribed for a woman to protect her chastity and to acquire offspring. This is what is prescribed. It may become obligatory for her if she fears for herself the sin of unlawful sexual intercourse; it becomes obligatory. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Young man, those of you who can support a wife should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserves you from immorality; but those who cannot should devote themselves to fasting, for it is a means of suppressing sexual desire.يا معشر الشباب! من استطاع منكم الباءة فليتزوج فإنه أغض للبصر وأحصن للفرج، ومن لم يستطع فعليه بالصوم فإنه له وجاء
Mishkat al-Masabih 3080
And so it is for the woman; she should hasten when a suitable match is available. Because of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
When someone whose religion and character you are pleased with proposes to (someone under the care) of one of you, then marry to him.إذا خطب إليكم من ترضون دينه وخلقه فزوجوه
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1084Da'if (Darussalam)
She should hasten and get married, have good opinion of Allah, and be hopeful for good, if Allah wills. She should not have a bad opinion of Allah; she should have a good opinion of Allah, fulfill the obligatory duties, and strive, for success is in the hand of Allah.
As for refraining from marriage out of fear of the harm of the husband, this is a mistake. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
