What are the rulings for a woman in the waiting period following her husband's death?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence, may Allah protect you, my husband passed away at the beginning of this month of Safar. My son's wedding had been scheduled for the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, before his father's death. Is it permissible for me to attend the wedding ceremony? Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
There is no objection to the marriage taking place in Rabi' al-Awwal. I say: there is no objection, praise be to Allah. He may get married, and we ask Allah to grant him success. As for you, if you attend while you are in the house, do not leave the house without adornment or perfume. There is no harm in your attending, but without adornment or perfume, and you must remain in the house. This is because the waiting period is spent in the husband's house. She does not wear beautiful clothes, but rather her usual clothes. She does not use perfume, does not wear jewelry, and does not apply kohl, until she completes the waiting period.
