The ruling on a woman removing her hijab in the presence of women

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a question from a brother. He says: A Muslim sister wears a garment that covers the entire body, which is not transparent, and she wears the abaya, which also covers the entire garment down to the ground, and it is closed at the front, as well as a face covering. Is it permissible for her to remove only the abaya when she visits some Muslim women? What is the ruling? And what is the evidence?

Answer:
There is no doubt that a woman is an awrah (part of the body that must be covered), and she must observe hijab (the covering prescribed for women) from men who are not mahram (a relative one may not marry). However, if she visits women, there is nothing wrong with it; because it is not obligatory for her to observe hijab from women, but rather she observes hijab from men. So if she visits women and takes off her abaya, there is nothing wrong with it and no blame on her. Allah said:
And when you ask [his wives] for something, ask them from behind a partition. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts.
[Al-Ahzab: 53], and He said:
not expose their adornment except to their husbandsوَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ
[An-Nur 24:31]
until He said:
Or their womenأَوْ نِسَائِهِنَّ
[An-Nur: 31]. So displaying adornment to women is not a problem, and there is no blame in that.
