The Method of Lawful Marriage

Question:
He says: There is no modesty in religion. I am a young man who wants to get married, but I want to know how to consummate the marriage with my wife according to what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did? And what should I wear? And should I stay away from her if she is pregnant? And thank you.
Answer:
Marriage is well known. One gets married, meaning he proposes to the woman, asks about her religion and her condition, and if he knows that she is righteous for him and a Muslim, or if he sees her, he marries her in the lawful manner. Her guardian performs the contract for him in the presence of some students of knowledge who are known, so that they clarify to him what is required. The guardian says: "I give you in marriage," and the groom says: "I accept in the presence of two just witnesses." There are four: the guardian, the groom, and two witnesses. The guardian says: "I give you in marriage," and he says: "I accept with a known amount of money between them, according to what is feasible."
And when he enters upon her, some scholars mentioned that it is better to pray two rak'ahs. If he prays two rak'ahs, that is good. He supplicates to Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) to make him successful with her. And when he touches her, he asks Allah for her goodness and the goodness of what she was created with, and he seeks refuge in Allah from her evil and the evil of what she was created with. Then, if he wishes to have intercourse with her, he does so.
And if she is pregnant, the marriage is invalid. If he entered upon her and she was pregnant, then this marriage is invalid. However, if she became pregnant from him, there is no harm in having intercourse with her while she is pregnant. But he does not have intercourse with her while she is menstruating or in post-natal bleeding. A menstruating woman and a woman in post-natal bleeding are not to be had intercourse with. As for a pregnant woman, there is no harm in having intercourse with her while she is pregnant if the pregnancy is from him. However, if he entered upon her and found her pregnant, then she has a waiting period from another man, and it is an invalid marriage. We seek refuge in Allah.
