Causes of the Disbelievers' Domination over the Muslims

Question:
May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh. Is not one of the causes of the disbelievers' domination over the Muslims the failure to raise the banner of Islamic jihad, and is raising the banner of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) an important cause, or not? Also, are the missions of youth sent abroad without understanding Islam correctly—so that they become influencers abroad rather than being influenced—also a cause?
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions. As for what follows:
The honorable brother, Shaykh Saud, mentioned, and I also mentioned after him, that what was mentioned is some of the causes, not all the causes. Shaykh Saud mentioned some of the causes, and I also supported the causes he mentioned, and I added some of the causes, and there are other causes.
There is no doubt that one of the causes of the enemies' domination is the Muslims' failure to carry out jihad, and they left jihad because of the division we referred to. When they divided and did not unite on one word, but became parties and factions, it was not possible to raise the banner of jihad and unite on jihad.
A small state that does not have the strength and ability to fight with it, jihad is not feasible for it. But if those leaders gather and cooperate, they can fight their enemy, and they can be victorious over their enemy if they are sincere, pure in intention, and give sincere advice to Allah.
So division, disagreement, and lack of unity are among the greatest causes of leaving jihad and not raising its banner. Also, the missions sent abroad of youth are no doubt among the causes that harm the Muslims. For most of the youth, when they go there, the enemies dictate their evil beliefs and deviant morals to them. Many of them, or most of them, return with their belief changed, their temperament changed, and their morals changed; so they become a war against the Muslims and an opposition to the Muslims, and they also become soldiers for the enemies of Allah against the awliya (close friends of Allah). This is the common case, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah.
