The Danger of Mocking the Religion
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We have received many questions regarding this topic, and regarding other topics. However, one of the brothers who is zealous for his religion came to us with this year's results. These results advertise a type of perfume called "Paradise of the Highest Grade Perfume." It features verses from the Qur'an, Prophetic hadiths, and the testimony that there is no god but Allah on the papers of a man sitting down, such that the letter of the testimony is at the man's foot, his private part is at "Muhammad," and his finger is at "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah." There are other verses in the shape of a ship, and other verses in the shape of a circle, and so on, in an effort to intensify the advertising. I see before me that the trademark is very similar to the cross of the Christians. He urges Your Eminence to address this matter with your wisdom?
Answer:
As for what concerns the image, the image of a man with the two testimonies, this reached us, and we wrote to the authorities regarding the punishment that is obligatory for the one who did this thing. As for what concerns the perfume, I have not heard of it until now. We ask Allah for safety.
There is no doubt that when people find weakness, they rush to all evil. This is the state of people, as Allah the Exalted said: [Ibrahim:34]. This is the description of the human being: [Al-Ahzab:72]. So when a person sees weakness from the state deterrent, he becomes lax in everything that brings him money or yields him some money, or with what is in his soul of corruption and evil, he calls to corruption as well, and perhaps there is money in it.
So the result is that the nature of people and the state of people, for the most part, is returning to falsehood, and inclining toward falsehood, injustice, and aggression, and spreading corruption, because he grew up with that, and grew up in that among the devils of mankind and jinn, so he became accustomed to evil and corruption. If he finds weakness, laxity, and a lack of deterrent, he will do what he can of evil and affliction to corrupt others with it: [An-Nisa:89]. As Allah said about the disbelievers: [Al-Qalam:9]. We ask Allah for safety, we ask Allah for well-being.

There is no doubt that when people find weakness, they rush to all evil. This is the state of people, as Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful.
إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَظَلُومٌ كَفَّارٌIndeed, he was unjust and ignorant.
إِنَّهُ كَانَ ظَلُومًا جَهُولًاSo the result is that the nature of people and the state of people, for the most part, is returning to falsehood, and inclining toward falsehood, injustice, and aggression, and spreading corruption, because he grew up with that, and grew up in that among the devils of mankind and jinn, so he became accustomed to evil and corruption. If he finds weakness, laxity, and a lack of deterrent, he will do what he can of evil and affliction to corrupt others with it:
They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved
وَدُّوا لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواThey wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you].
وَدُّوا لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ
