The Difference Between the Injust and the Just
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message was received by the program from one of the listening brothers, (A. S.). Our brother is asking a set of questions. In his first question, he says: I ask you to please answer the following questions, which are as follows:
What is the difference between the noble verses: In verse fifteen of Surat al-Jinn, Allah the Exalted said: [al-Jinn:15]. And in verse seven of Surat al-Mumtahanah, He the Exalted said: [al-Mumtahanah:8]. And in verse forty-two of Surat al-Ma'idah, Allah the Exalted said: [al-Ma'idah:42].
Answer: Al-Qist (justice)—which Allah has commanded to be judged by—is justice. Al-Muqsitun (the just ones) are the people of justice who are just in their judgment, in their families, and in what Allah has entrusted them with. It is said: "He was just (aqasta)" if he was just in his judgment, fulfilled the right, and did not act unjustly.
As for al-Qasit (the unjust one): this is the oppressor and the wrongdoer. It is said of him: "He was unjust (qasta)" if he acted unjustly and oppressed. For this reason, He the Exalted said: [al-Jinn:15], meaning: the wrongdoers. "And as for the unjust ones (al-Qasitun)," the wrongdoers, the oppressors, those who transgress the limits of Allah, they are those whom Allah has threatened to make fuel for Hellfire.
So as for al-Muqsitun (with the mīm), al-Muqsitun: from the quadriliteral root, these are the people of justice, the successful and guided ones who are just in their judgment, in their families, and in what Allah has entrusted them with. For this reason, He the Exalted said: [al-Ma'idah:42], meaning: He loves the people of justice, uprightness, and fairness. And from this is His saying in the authentic hadith: Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
