Explanation of the Meaning of al-Qasitin and al-Muqsitin in the Noble Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: I hope you will be kind enough to answer the following: What is the difference between the following noble verses? In verse fifteen of Surat al-Jinn, Allah the Exalted said:
But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.'
[al-Jinn: 15]. And in verse eight of Surat al-Mumtahanah:
Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
[al-Mumtahanah: 8]. And in verse forty-two of Surat al-Ma'idah:
judge between them with justice. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
[al-Ma'idah: 42]?

A: The qist (justice) by which Allah commanded judgment is justice. The muqsitin are the people of justice in their judgment, in their families, and in what Allah entrusted to them. To iqsat means to be just in judgment, to fulfill the right, and not to be unjust.
As for al-qasit, he is the unjust, the wrongdoer. It is said: qasata yaqsitu qasatan, so he is qasit, when he is unjust and wrongs. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.'
[al-Jinn: 15], meaning the unjust, the wrongdoers, the transgressors who exceed the limits of Allah. They are those whom Allah threatened to make fuel for Hellfire.
As for al-muqsitin, with the mim, from the quadriliteral root iqsat, these are: the people of justice, the successful, the guided, who are just in their judgment, in their families, and in those whom Allah entrusted to them. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
[al-Mumtahanah: 8], meaning He loves the people of justice, uprightness, and fairness. For this reason, it came in the authentic hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
The muqsitin will be on minbars of light on the Day of Resurrection, those who are just in their judgment, their families, and what they were entrusted with.
