How to make up fasting delayed from previous years

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question in her letter states: I have fasting to make up from six years, and they say that one day is to be fasted as two days. What is the ruling of the Shari'ah in this matter? Is this correct? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
Answer: You must make up only the fasting that is upon you, without any increase. The statement of some people that one day is to be fasted as two days is a false error with no basis. You only fast the days that you broke, and there is no increase upon you. However, if you delayed the fasting without a valid Shari'ah excuse—such as an illness that prevents it, or other excuses like pregnancy, post-natal bleeding, or the like—then in addition to fasting, you must feed one poor person for each day, if that is feasible for you. If you are well-off, you feed one poor person for each day. This means half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) for each day, which is approximately one and a half kilograms for each day. This is collected or given to some of the poor for all the days that are upon you. For each day, it is half a sa' of the staple food of the country, such as rice, dates, wheat, barley, corn, or the like. You give this to some of the poor. You look for some poor households and give them this food for all the days that you did not fast, if you delayed them without an excuse. As for if you had an excuse, such as illness, then you do not have to feed; you only fast the number of days, with no increase. And as for the statement of those who say that two days are to be fasted for each day, that is a false statement with no basis.
