Is it a condition for reading the Qur'an from the mushaf that a person be in a state of ritual purity and have performed wudu', considering that this may be difficult for some people?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it a condition for reading the Qur'an from the mushaf that a person be in a state of ritual purity and have performed wudu', knowing that this may be difficult for some people?

The Shaykh : I say: No one may touch the mushaf unless he is in a state of ritual purity, whether he is reading or not. If he reads from a mushaf without touching it, for example if he is wearing gloves or holding a handkerchief or something similar, and he does not touch it with them, there is no harm. And if he recites the Qur'an from memory, there is no harm in his reciting it even if he has not performed wudu'.
