Our Duty Toward the Oppressed Muslims
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What can we do to save ourselves from the anger of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) while we see Muslims being killed and slaughtered in many places, and we remain silent about the occupation of Muslim lands by the Jews and disbelievers, foremost among them being al-Aqsa Mosque? Are we being punished? What should we do in this situation? Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
It is obligatory for every Muslim to support the truth according to his independent legal reasoning and his ability. He should pray for the Muslims to be granted success and guidance, unite their word on the path of guidance, and pray for the oppressed to be supported, that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) support them, take them by the hand to the truth, and that he himself should be discerning in his religion, deepen his understanding of his religion, and contribute as much as he can to enjoining good and forbidding evil, calling to Allah, and guiding to what is good. This is the obligation. Allah says: [Surat al-Taghabun: 16].
Therefore, every Muslim who sees falsehood must reject it according to his capacity, or if he sees truth that has been lost, he must call to it and pray for the Muslims. The Muslims are one entity and one structure. They must cooperate in supplication, in solidarity, with wealth, and with everything they are able to do. And Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear.
If you have zeal and love for supporting the truth in your heart, then you must supplicate to Allah and beseech Him to support the truth, guide its people to His straight path, help them to manifest the truth, suppress their opponents and enemies, humble them, and unite the word of the Muslims on guidance, good, and righteousness. You must also do what you can of enjoining good and forbidding evil, with wisdom according to your capacity, with your hand, then your tongue, then your heart. And you must deepen your understanding of your religion so that you are on clear evidence and certainty in what you enjoin and what you forbid. And Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) is the One to be sought for help, and the One who grants success.
