The ruling on one who dies while persisting in drinking intoxicants

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on one who drinks intoxicants until he dies, and he is not known?

Answer:
If he dies, his affair is left to Allah. Allah takes charge of his affair. If he was a Muslim, he is under the will of Allah, and he is in danger of entering the Fire. If he died upon disbelief, his affair is left to the Fire—may Allah keep us safe. Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says:
Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He willsإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ
[Surat al-Nisa: 48].
One who dies upon sins, such as drinking intoxicants, or unlawful sexual intercourse, or undutifulness to parents, or usury or interest, is under the will of Allah. If Allah wills, He forgives him for his Islam and the oneness of Allah upon which he died. If He wills, He punishes him according to the magnitude of the sins, after he is purified in the Fire and tested, and Allah takes him out of the Fire into Paradise; because he is a Muslim. As for one who dies upon other than Islam, he is destined for the Fire—we seek refuge in Allah.

Question: And what about one who does not pray?

Answer: The one who does not pray is a disbeliever according to the correct view, even if he says that it is obligatory. As long as he does not pray, the correct opinion of the scholars and the meticulous ones is that he becomes a disbeliever because of that. This is because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The covenant that distinguishes between us and them is prayer; so whoever leaves it, he has committed Kufr.العهد الذي بيننا وبينهم الصلاة فمن تركها فقد كفر
Sunan Ibn Majah 1079Sahih (Darussalam)
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Between a man and disbelief and shirk (associating partners with Allah) is the abandonment of prayer.بين الرجل وبين الكفر والشرك ترك الصلاة
