Ruling on leaving a guest in the house without a mahram

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A guest came to me and stayed in my house. Is it permissible for me to leave him in my house in a room of his own, while my wife is in a room of her own, or in the kitchen? Or is that considered seclusion? Please advise us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
No, you may not leave them alone together. Rather, you must be with the guest. You stay with the guest and go out with the guest if there is no one in the house except the woman alone. As for if there is someone else with the woman, there is no harm. If she is alone, do not stay with the guest.
The guest is not to be trusted, and the guest may be bad, and he may have come to you for this purpose. You should be cautious and careful. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade seclusion. He said:
No person should be alone with a womanلا يخلون رجل بامرأة
Sahih Muslim 1341a
And he said:
For indeed, Satan is the third among themفإن الشيطان ثالثهما
So you may not leave her with the guest. Rather, you both go out together, and you both stay together, until Allah opens the way and removes the presence of this guest from you.

Question : He is in one room, and the wife is in another room?

Answer: Even if in a room, it is wrong, as long as he knows that no one is with her, it is wrong.

Question : For example, he was surprised by the guest and went down to answer from the grocery store for some bread, or something for the guest... and it seems like he is accusing her, and there is a kind of embarrassment?

Answer: Perhaps, he can bring her neighbors to some of her neighbors who are with her, or something like that. He strives in the matter that removes the danger as much as possible.
