The Ruling on Asking a Dead Person for Supplication at the Grave
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh. A questioner says: If a man stands at a grave and asks his companion, saying, “O so-and-so, if you are among the people of Paradise, then supplicate to Allah for us,” what is the ruling on this action?
Answer:
He is dead, yet you ask him to supplicate for you! You should supplicate to Allah yourself. You, supplicate to Allah. As for the dead person, do not ask him for anything, neither supplication nor anything else. He is unable to do anything, neither supplication nor anything else.
