The Spread of the Phenomenon of Cursing and Insulting
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The phenomenon of cursing, invoking evil upon others, and insulting has spread among some of the youth and some of the men, and its origin is bad company, and sometimes it comes from within the home. So what is the guidance? May Allah reward you.
Answer:
Answer: Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says: (O you who believe! Fear Allah and speak words that are just). A person is responsible for his speech, for what he says, and will be held accountable for his words. Mu'adh ibn Jabal said to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): "And are we not to be held accountable for what we speak?" He said: "May your mother be bereaved of you, O Mu'adh! What throws people into the Fire on their faces or on their snouts, except the harvests of their tongues?" So the Muslim must guard his tongue from backbiting, talebearing, cursing, insulting, and the like; because this is recorded against him, and he will be held accountable for it on the Day of Resurrection.
