A275: Allah the Exalted said:
And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor personوَعَلَى الَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍ
[Al-Baqarah 2:184]
. The old man who cannot bear fasting, and the chronic sick person for whom fasting is not expected, and who is unable to fast, must feed a poor person for every day, the amount being one and a half kilograms of food.
