Rinsing the mouth for the fasting person
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 20344 )
Q1: In a past year, during Ramadan, I was pregnant. The heat was intense, and my mouth became dry. I took some cold water and rinsed my mouth with it to moisten my mouth and soften my lips, being careful to prevent any water from entering my stomach. Do I have any sin or expiation to pay?
A1: If the matter is as you described, then you have no sin and no obligation to make up the day on which the rinsing occurred, because there is nothing that invalidates your fast. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
