The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 16374 )
Q4: What is the ruling on the one who says: “Fasting the six days of Shawwal must begin on the second day of this month, especially for the elderly” ?
A4: Fasting the six days of Shawwal is broad in scope throughout the month, whether at its beginning, end, or middle, consecutively or non-consecutively; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Musannaf Abd al-Razzaq 9:610 Thus, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) generalized the fasting of the six days for the entire month of Shawwal, and Allah knows best.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
