Fasting the Six Days of Shawwal

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 3475 )
Q4: Is it obligatory to fast the six days immediately after Ramadan, right after the festival, or is it permissible to begin fasting them one or several days after the festival, and to fast them consecutively or separately during the month of Shawwal, or is that not allowed?
A4: It is not obligatory for him to fast them immediately after 'Id al-Fitr; rather, it is permissible for him to begin fasting them one or several days after the festival, and to fast them consecutively or separately during the month of Shawwal, as is convenient for him. The matter is broad in this regard, and it is not an obligation but a recommended practice (sunnah). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
